Similar to Basileans, but without the political dichotomy, the Brotherhood were relentless in their pursuit of the annihilation of the Abyss, even having their homeland right at the Abysses edge to ensure they kept a watchful eye over the Abyss and hunted down beings that emerged from it.
One of the kingdoms that was swallowed by the Infant Sea's expansion after Winters defeat by Valandor. Those that remained were bedraggled survivors, all that remains of this kingdom is the ruins atop the Forsaken Isles.
The returning ancestors of the The Brotherhood, stood with Valandor to allow him time to conjure his magic and fight the fast flowing flood.
To many knights Valandor infused their armour with water magic, while also summoning great beasts and the elementals of water, demonstrating how to control them to the sorcerers.
Leaving the Botherhood to go and avert the impending disaster, he was never seen by those knights again.
The Brotherhood kingdom was one of the many that disappeared beneath what later became the Infant Sea, small parts managed to escape and make there way northwards, settling north of Basilea. The Brotherhood dedicated themselves to the fight against evil, building their fortress facing the Abyss, beginning the Eternal Watch.
The whole society exists on a permanent war footing, with a line of smaller fortresses and watch towers being the first line of defense against the Abyss.
The Brotherhood is formed of several Orders.
The Basileans and the Brotherhood had an uneasy understanding and even battled each other, Both held back from all out war due to the Abyss.
All that changed with the Edge of the Abyss, their Castle and homelands fell crumbling into the Abyss and were later flooded out with the great quenching of the Abyss.
The very earth buckled and groaned as the Abys grew, devouring everything in its way. The Brotherhood, the stoic defenders against the horrors within, were defeated. Some were lucky to escape before their outposts and fortresses were swallowed into the depths. Less fortunate souls tumbled into the Abyss, doomed to become playthings of their cruel masters.
The tireless watch of The Brotherhood is over and what remained has been scattered to the corners of Mantica.
Support came from the Basileans and the Forces of Nature, but while they both could send reinforcements the Brotherhood's ranks were quickly being depleted.
This left the Brotherhood splintered and fractured into two, Order of the Green Lady and Order of the Brothermark
